The bottom part of the building is right next to the Brisbane River. You can find a special boat stop there called a CityCat wharf. This makes it easy for people to travel by boat.
There are also many cafes and restaurants at the Riverside Centre. On Sundays, you can visit the Riverside markets here. It's a fun place to explore.
Riverwalk Connection
The Riverwalk is a path that runs along the river. It connects the city center to other areas up and down the river. This path was built between the water and the public space around the skyscraper.
A Place for Fun and Art
The open area and steps at the base of the tower are a great spot. Many people gather there to watch the Riverfire celebrations. Riverfire is a big event with fireworks over the river.
This building is considered important for its history and design. It used to be home to the Brisbane Stock Exchange, where businesses traded shares.
Art in the Building
A sculptor named Norman Carlberg worked with Harry Seidler on art for the Riverside Centre. They created special artworks that are part of the building's design.
Site History
Before the Riverside Centre was built, this spot had a different past. It was once a cemetery. Later, smaller buildings were built there, connected to wharves for boats.
Other Seidler Buildings
Harry Seidler designed other important buildings in Brisbane too. The Riparian Plaza is another tall building he designed. It was finished in 2005 and is located close to the Riverside Centre. The building called One One One Eagle Street is located right between these two famous skyscrapers.
