The Riverside Municipal Auditorium and Soldiers' Memorial Building is a cool place in Riverside, California. It's also known as the Riverside Auditorium and Events Center. This building is a popular spot for concerts, shows, and other fun events.
It's owned by the City of Riverside. However, a private company manages it. You can even rent it for meetings or parties! This special building opened on November 12, 1928. It also serves as a memorial for 87 brave soldiers from Riverside County. These soldiers sadly died during World War I. The building has a unique Mission Revival style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Design and History
The building was first designed by an architect named Arthur Benton. After he passed away, G. Stanley Wilson continued his work. Both of these architects also helped design the famous Mission Inn nearby.
The auditorium is surrounded by pretty gardens. You can also find fountains and even a waterfall there. The land for the building was given by Frank Miller. He was the owner of the Mission Inn.
What Happens There?
The auditorium has 1,400 seats. Many different events take place here. You can see charity art shows or listen to orchestral music. The Riverside Philharmonic often performs.
Famous people and groups have performed here. These include George Lopez, Margaret Cho, and The Whispers. Jimmy Cliff and Frankie Beverly and Maze have also played concerts. You might even see magic shows by David Copperfield! The building also hosts events like The Dickens Festival and Children's Theatre.
Modern Upgrades
In October 2011, big renovations started. The goal was to make the historic building even better. This project cost $9.5 million. It took about one year to complete.
The upgrades included important safety work. They made the building stronger against earthquakes. New electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning systems were also installed. The auditorium also got a better sound system. A new wooden floor was put in the main theater. Even the historic seats were carefully restored!
