Rives is a small town located in Obion County, Tennessee. In 2020, about 246 people lived there. Rives is part of the Union City area, which is a group of towns connected by jobs and daily life.
Rives is just south of Union City. It was first called Troy Station. People from South Carolina started settling here in the 1820s. By the 1850s, the town grew a lot because of the Mobile and Ohio Railroad. Rives has an interesting history with trains. At one time, it had several hotels for train passengers.

Town Services
Fire Department
Rives has its own fire department called the Rives Volunteer Fire Department. It started in 1980. The current Chief is David Kendall, who is the last person still working there from when it first began. The fire station has three fire trucks and is located across from the post office.
The Rives Volunteer Fire Department helps Fire District 61 in the county. They respond to many emergency calls each year. For example, they had 83 calls in 2022 and 102 calls in 2021. They also work with the fire departments in Union City and South Fulton to help each other when needed.
Law Enforcement
The Obion County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol are in charge of keeping the town safe. The Sheriff's Office handles local law enforcement. The Highway Patrol helps with laws on state roads.

Tennessee State Route 216 is a main road that goes right through the middle of Rives.
