The Rivière de l'Or (which means Gold River in English) is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into the Grand lac Saint François, which is the starting point for the larger Saint-François River. This river runs through the towns of Adstock and Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine. It's located in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, on the south side of the St. Lawrence River.

Where the Gold River Flows
The Gold River is about 8.6 kilometers (5.3 miles) long. It starts from mountain streams in Adstock and ends in Grand lac Saint François.
River's Starting Point
The Gold River begins in Lac du Huit, a lake located in the town of Adstock. This area is east of the Thetford Mines mining region. The lake is found north of the 8th rang road.
The River's Journey
From Lac du Huit, the river flows about 1.2 kilometers (0.7 miles) south. It then enters Lac à la Truite, which is 3.2 kilometers (2 miles) long. The river crosses this lake for about 1.1 kilometers (0.7 miles).
After leaving Lac à la Truite, the river continues for 4.4 kilometers (2.7 miles) southwest. It passes west of the Thetford Mines airport and Mont Adstock. It also crosses Route 267.
In its final part, the Gold River flows about 1.9 kilometers (1.2 miles) south. It then empties into a bay on the north shore of Grand lac Saint François.

The mouth of the Gold River is on the north shore of Grand lac Saint François. This spot is about 6.1 kilometers (3.8 miles) northeast of the Jules-Allard dam. The dam is at the very end of Grand lac Saint François. The river's mouth is also west of the Muskrat River's mouth.
