The Bogue River is a small river in Quebec, Canada. It flows through the towns of Weedon and Dudswell, Quebec. This river is part of the Le Haut-Saint-François Regional County Municipality in the Estrie region.

Where is the Bogue River Located?

The Bogue River is surrounded by other waterways. These are called hydrographic slopes. Think of them as areas where water drains into different rivers or streams.

The River's Beginning

The Bogue River starts from a small, unnamed lake. This lake is about 335 metres (1,099 ft) (1,099 feet) above sea level. You can find it in the western part of Weedon, Quebec. It's located west of Weeland Lake and south of "Lac Fer à Cheval." It's also west of a place called "Montagne d'Adjutor."

How the River Flows

The Bogue River flows for about 11.2 kilometres (7.0 mi) (7 miles). It travels in several sections:

  • First, it goes southwest for 0.3 kilometres (0.19 mi) (0.19 miles). This takes it to the border between Weedon and Dudswell.
  • Then, it continues southwest for 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) (1.2 miles). It reaches the bottom of the southeastern side of "Montagne d'Adjutor" in Dudswell.
  • Next, it turns southeast for 2.2 kilometres (1.4 mi) (1.4 miles). It flows up to Route 112.
  • After that, it goes south for 4.2 kilometres (2.6 mi) (2.6 miles) to another road.
  • Finally, it flows eastward for 2.6 kilometres (1.6 mi) (1.6 miles). This leads it to its end, where it joins another river.

Where the River Ends

The Bogue River flows into the northwest side of the Saint-François River. This meeting point is about 1.8 kilometres (1.1 mi) (1.1 miles) downstream from where the Paré brook joins. It's also downstream from the village of Weedon Centre and upstream from the village of Bishipton.
