Robert "Robbie" AhMat is a former Australian rules football player. He was born on July 19, 1977. Robbie has a special heritage, as his family comes from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia.

Robbie AhMat's Football Journey
Starting in the AFL
Robbie began his professional football career in 1995. He played for the Collingwood Football Club. His very first game was on July 16, 1995, against the Brisbane Bears. This game took place at the Gabba stadium.
Robbie was a special player for Collingwood. He was the second Aboriginal person to play for the club. The first was Wally Lovett in the early 1980s.
Playing for Two Clubs
Robbie played for Collingwood from 1995 to 1997. During these years, he played 25 games and scored 22 goals. After that, he moved to the Sydney Swans. He played for the Swans from 1998 to 2001. With the Swans, he played 42 games and scored 46 goals.
In total, Robbie played 67 games in his AFL career. He scored 68 goals. One of his biggest achievements was winning the AFL Goal of the Year award in 2000. This award is given for the most amazing goal scored in a season.
Life After the AFL
After his time in the AFL ended in 2001, Robbie continued to play football. He joined the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He played for the Norwood team for two seasons. During his time there, he scored 13 goals.
Family Connections
Robbie AhMat comes from a family of talented footballers. His cousins also played professional Australian rules football. These include Matthew Ahmat, who played for Brisbane and Sydney. Another famous cousin is Andrew McLeod, who played for Adelaide. Nakia Cockatoo is also his cousin and played for Geelong.
