Robert's Early Life and Music
Robert Burås discovered his love for rock music when he was about 12 years old. This happened after he heard a mix tape. The very first song on that tape was "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin. Robert loved it right away. He often said this song was one of his favorites.
Madrugada: The Band's Journey
Before joining Madrugada, Robert played in local bands. He played with friends and schoolmates. Later, he formed a band called Abby's Adoption. He was with drummer John Lauvland Pettersen and bass player Frode Jacobsen.
Then, singer Sivert Høyem joined them. They changed their band name to Madrugada. Soon after, they moved to Oslo. Madrugada released their first music in 1998. It was an EP, which is like a mini-album.
My Midnight Creeps: A New Project
Robert Burås started a new band called My Midnight Creeps in 2005. He was the lead singer and guitarist for this band. He also wrote most of their songs. My Midnight Creeps released two albums. The first was called My Midnight Creeps (2005). Their second album, Histamin, came out in 2007.
Robert's Favorite Instruments
Robert Burås used several guitars during his music career. His main guitar with Madrugada was a 1966 Fender Jazzmaster. It was a cool Candy Apple Red color. This special guitar was placed on his coffin during his funeral.
He also often played a sunburst Fender Stratocaster. Another guitar he used was a black Gibson Les Paul Custom. When he played with My Midnight Creeps, he mostly used a brown Gibson ES-345. Besides guitars, Robert also played the harmonica, electric mandolin, and sometimes the piano.
