Robert Andrew Carnegie, the 13th Earl of Northesk (born June 24, 1926 – died January 26, 1994), was a British nobleman. He was also a landowner, a farmer, and a politician. As a hereditary peer, he inherited his title from his family.
His father was John Carnegie, the 12th Earl of Northesk. His mother was Dorothy May Campion. Robert Andrew Carnegie led an interesting life, serving in the navy, racing cars, and even breeding special cattle.

Early Life and Education
Robert Andrew Carnegie was born in 1926. He received his education at two different schools. First, he attended Pangbourne Nautical College in the United Kingdom. Later, he studied at Tabor Academy, Massachusetts in the United States.
Serving His Country
From 1942 to 1945, Robert Carnegie served in the Royal Navy. This was during World War II. His time in the navy helped shape his early life.

Beyond his formal education and military service, Robert Carnegie had some exciting hobbies. He was known for his love of speed and farming.
Racing Driver
Robert Carnegie was an amateur racing driver. He raced under the name "Robin Carnegie." He competed in famous races like Le Mans and the Mille Miglia. These were very challenging and well-known car races.
Cattle Breeding
In the 1970s, Robert Carnegie moved to the Isle of Man. There, he became a successful farmer. He specialized in breeding Charolais cattle. These are a type of large, white beef cattle. He even exported his cattle to different countries around the world.
Family Life
On July 20, 1949, Robert Carnegie married Jean Margaret MacRae. Jean was the daughter of Captain John Duncan George MacRae. Her mother was Lady Phyllis Hervey. Lady Phyllis was the daughter of the 4th Marquess of Bristol.
Robert and Jean had four children together:
- Ian Robert MacRae Carnegie (born April 9, 1950 – died November 19, 1951)
- Lady Karen Jean Carnegie (born December 22, 1951); she married Patrick Vavasseur Fisher, 4th Baron Fisher.
- Mary Barbara Carnegie (born February 10, 1953); she married William Patrick Stirling Damerell.
- David John MacRae Carnegie, 14th Earl of Northesk (born November 3, 1954 – died March 28, 2010)
