About Robert Costanza

Robert Costanza has taught at many universities. Before joining University College London, he was a professor at The Australian National University. He also taught at Portland State University in Oregon. For many years, he was a professor and director at the Gund Institute for Ecological Economics at the University of Vermont. Before that, he worked at the University of Maryland.

He helped start the International Society for Ecological Economics. He was also the first chief editor of their journal, Ecological Economics. This journal started in 1989. Costanza also founded Solutions, a magazine that shares both academic and popular ideas. He is part of many other academic journals. He is also a senior fellow at the Stockholm Resilience Centre in Sweden.
