Robert Davis's College Football Journey
Robert Davis played football for Georgia State University from 2013 to 2016. He was a very good player. He was named one of the best players in the Sun Belt Conference in both 2015 and 2016.
Robert set new records at Georgia State. He became the all-time leader in catches (222) and receiving yards (3,391). These records were previously held by his teammate, Albert Wilson. Robert also scored 17 touchdowns, which was the second-highest in school history.
He had at least one catch in every game he played. This was a streak of 49 games in a row! This was the longest active streak in college football at the time. Robert finished his college career as one of the top receivers in Sun Belt history.

Time with the Washington Redskins
The Washington Redskins chose Robert Davis in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was the 209th player picked overall. On September 2, 2017, the team decided to release him. However, they signed him to their practice squad the very next day. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster.
Later that year, on December 4, 2017, Robert was moved to the active roster. This meant he could play in games.
In 2018, Robert faced a challenge. He got injured during training camp. He broke a bone in his leg and tore a ligament. This injury meant he could not play for the entire 2018 season. The Redskins released him again on September 7, 2019, but he rejoined their practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster once more on September 13, 2019.
