Robert Kidiaba Muteba was born on February 1, 1976. He is a famous person from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He used to be a professional footballer, playing as a goalkeeper. After his football career, he became a politician.

Robert Kidiaba spent most of his time playing for a club called TP Mazembe. He also played many games for his country, the DR Congo national team. He is well-known for his unique "bum shuffle" goal celebration!

Playing for Clubs

Robert Kidiaba started his club football career in his hometown of Lubumbashi. He played for AS Saint-Luc before joining TP Mazembe in 2002. He stayed with TP Mazembe until 2016.

With TP Mazembe, Kidiaba played in big international tournaments. These included the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup. In 2010, his team, TP Mazembe, made history! They reached the final of the Club World Cup. This was a huge achievement because they were the first club from outside South America or Europe to do so.

Playing for His Country

Kidiaba first played for the DR Congo national team in 2002. He played in many important matches, including games to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

In December 2014, he said he would stop playing for his country after the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. However, after the tournament in February 2015, he thought about continuing to play. He was a key player for his national team for many years.

Becoming a Politician

After his amazing football career, Robert Kidiaba decided to help his country in a different way. In May 2015, it was announced that he would run for election. He joined the National Party for Democracy and Development.

In January 2019, he was successfully elected! He became a Member of Parliament for the Upper Katanga Province. This means he helps make important decisions for his region and country.

Personal Life and Charity Work

Robert Kidiaba is married and has three children. He is also an ambassador for a charity called Peace One Day. This charity works to promote peace around the world.

He is famous for his fun "bum shuffle" goal celebration. When he made a great save or his team scored, he would bounce around his penalty area on his backside. Fans absolutely loved this move!
