Robert Marek Korzeniowski (born July 30, 1968) is a famous Polish athlete. He was a racewalker, which is a sport where athletes walk as fast as possible without running. Robert won four gold medals at the Olympic Games. He also earned three gold medals at the World Championships.

Early Life and Family
Robert Korzeniowski was born in a town called Lubaczów in Poland. He has a sister, Sylwia Korzeniowska, who is also an Olympic athlete.
Robert's Amazing Career
Robert Korzeniowski is known for his incredible achievements in racewalking. He won many important races during his career.
Olympic Gold Medals
Robert won three Olympic gold medals in a row for the 50-kilometer walk.
- His first gold was at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.
- He won again at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
- His third gold was at the Athens Olympics in 2004.
At the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Robert made history. He became the first athlete ever to win gold in both the 50-kilometer walk and the 20-kilometer walk at the same Olympic Games. This was a truly special achievement!
World and European Championships
Robert also showed his talent at the World Championships. He won gold medals in the 50-kilometer walk at:
- The 1997 World Championships.
- The 2001 World Championships.
- The 2003 World Championships.
He also won the European Championship twice in the 50-kilometer walk. These wins were in 1998 in Budapest and 2002 in Munich. For a few years, from 2002 to 2006, he even held the world record for the 50-kilometer walk!
Life After Competing
After the 2004 Olympic Games, Robert Korzeniowski decided to retire from competing. He then started working with the International Olympic Committee. He also coached and guided other athletes, like the former world record-holder Paquillo Fernández.
From 2005, he worked for Polish Television (TVP). He was the head of the sports department. In 2007, he became the General Manager of TVP Sport, a new sports TV channel in Poland. He left this role in 2009.
In 2014, Robert Korzeniowski was honored by being added to the International Association of Athletics Federations' Hall of Fame. This is a very special recognition for athletes.
In 2022, a new racewalking competition was started in Warsaw, Poland. It is called the Korzeniowski Warsaw Race Walking Cup and is named after him. This competition is now a major event in the world of racewalking.
