Robert Snodgrass (born 7 September 1987) is a Scottish footballer. He played as a winger. He started his career in Scotland before moving to England.
Snodgrass played for several well-known clubs. These include Livingston, Leeds United, Norwich City, Hull City, and West Ham United. He also played for the Scotland national team. He retired from playing football in January 2024.

About Robert Snodgrass
Robert Snodgrass was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He grew up in the Gallowgate area of the city. As a young boy, he played football for a team linked with Rangers. He played alongside his future teammate, James McArthur.
When he was older, Celtic, Clyde, and Livingston offered him a chance to join their youth teams. He chose Livingston because he felt he had a better chance to play for their main team there.
Playing for Clubs
Robert Snodgrass played for many different football clubs during his career. He started in Scotland and then moved to England.
Livingston Football Club
Snodgrass began his senior career at Livingston. He scored 15 goals in 79 league games for them. He even turned down a trial with the famous Spanish club Barcelona.
In 2007, he went on loan to Stirling Albion. This helped him get back to full fitness after an injury. He became a regular player for Livingston in the 2005–06 season. After scoring ten goals in the 2007–08 season, he decided to move on. He joined Leeds United in July 2008.
Leeds United Football Club
Snodgrass joined Leeds United in 2008. He made his first appearance for the club against Scunthorpe United. He scored his first goal for Leeds in a League Cup match against Chester City.
He quickly became an important player for Leeds. In his first season, he scored 11 goals and made 19 assists.
Helping Leeds Get Promoted
Before the 2009–10 season, Snodgrass signed a new four-year contract. He helped Leeds win promotion to the Championship in 2010. They finished second in League One, which meant they moved up automatically. He scored 10 goals and made 14 assists that season.

In 2011, Snodgrass suffered a knee injury during a pre-season game. Luckily, it was not as bad as first thought, and he returned to play. He scored several important goals for Leeds that season.
Becoming Captain
In February 2012, Snodgrass became the captain of Leeds. This was under the new manager Neil Warnock. He finished the season with 13 goals and 14 assists. He was voted both the Fans' Player of the Year and the Players' Player of the Year.
Norwich City Football Club
In July 2012, Snodgrass signed with Norwich City. He made his first appearance for them in August 2012. He scored his first goal for Norwich against Tottenham Hotspur.
He became a regular player for Norwich. Fans voted him second in the Player of the Season award for the 2012–13 season. He continued to score important goals, including a free-kick against West Ham United.

Hull City Football Club
Snodgrass joined Hull City in June 2014. Sadly, he suffered a serious knee injury in his very first league game for Hull. This injury kept him out of action for over a year.
Hull was relegated while he was injured. But Snodgrass helped them get promoted back to the Premier League in 2016. They won the play-offs to achieve this.
West Ham United Football Club
In January 2017, Snodgrass moved to West Ham United. He made his debut for them in February 2017.

He was loaned to Aston Villa for the 2017–18 season. He played very well for Aston Villa, scoring seven goals and making 14 assists. He helped them reach the play-off final.
After returning to West Ham, he scored his first goals for the club in an 8–0 win against Macclesfield Town in 2018. He left West Ham in January 2021.
Later Career Clubs
After West Ham, Snodgrass had shorter spells at other clubs:
- West Bromwich Albion: He joined them in January 2021.
- Luton Town: He signed for Luton in February 2022.
- Heart of Midlothian: He joined this Scottish club in September 2022. He left in April 2023.
On 16 January 2024, Robert Snodgrass announced his retirement from professional football.
Playing for Scotland
Robert Snodgrass played for Scotland at different youth levels. This included the under-19, under-20, and under-21 teams. He was part of the team that reached the final of the 2006 European Under-19 Championships.

He was first called up to the senior Scotland squad in October 2009. He made his full international debut on 9 February 2011. This was in a match against Northern Ireland.
Snodgrass scored his first international goal on 10 August 2011 against Denmark. In June 2013, he scored the only goal in a 1–0 win against Croatia. This was a big win for Scotland.
In September 2016, Snodgrass scored a hat-trick (three goals) in a 5–1 win against Malta. This was during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification.
He retired from international football in October 2019. He played 28 games for Scotland and scored seven goals.
