Robin Bengtsson (born April 27, 1990) is a Swedish pop singer. He became known after joining the TV show Idol 2008 in Sweden. Robin later represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with his song "I Can't Go On". He finished in 5th place at the contest held in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Robin's Early Career

Robin Bengtsson was born in Svenljunga, Sweden. In 2008, he took part in the Swedish TV show Idol 2008. He finished in third place in the competition. After Idol, Robin signed with Merion Music. He released his first song, "Another Lover's Gone," in 2009.

In 2010, Robin joined other artists for a charity song called "Wake Up World." This song helped raise money for "Hjälp Haiti." He also sang "Long Long Night" with Kim Fransson. Robin even competed in the Swedish version of Wipeout in 2010, where he finished second.

Melodifestivalen and Eurovision

Robin Bengtsson has taken part in Melodifestivalen several times. This is a big music competition in Sweden. The winner gets to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Melodifestivalen 2016

In 2016, Robin competed in Melodifestivalen with his song "Constellation Prize". He did very well and placed fifth in the final.

Winning Melodifestivalen 2017

Robin returned to Melodifestivalen in 2017 with the song "I Can't Go On". This time, he won the competition! This meant he would represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. He performed in the first semi-final and made it to the grand final. In the final, he achieved an impressive fifth place.

Later Melodifestivalen Appearances

Robin continued to participate in Melodifestivalen. In 2020, he sang "Take a Chance". He went straight to the final and finished in eighth place. He returned again in 2022 with "Innocent Love". This song also qualified directly for the final. It reached number 10 on the Swedish music charts.

Other TV Appearances

Besides music, Robin has also appeared on other TV shows. In 2019, he was a celebrity dancer on Let's Dance 2019. He danced with Sigrid Bernson and they finished in fifth place. In 2023, Robin was a special guest on the Swedish TV show Drag Race Sverige.
