Shou Wan-por (Chinese: 仇雲波), known as Robin Shou, was born on July 17, 1960. He is a talented actor, martial artist, and stuntman from Hong Kong and America. Robin grew up in Los Angeles after being born in British Hong Kong.
He started his career in Hong Kong movies in the late 1980s. He worked as a stuntman first, then became an actor. Robin Shou starred in many Hong Kong films. Some of these include City War (1988) and Tiger Cage 2 (1990). He made over 40 movies in Hong Kong before moving to Hollywood.
Robin Shou's first big role in America was in the TV movie Forbidden Nights (1990). In 1994, he got his most famous role as Liu Kang in the movie Mortal Kombat. This film was based on a popular video game. He played Liu Kang again in the 1997 sequel, Mortal Kombat Annihilation. That same year, he acted with Chris Farley in the comedy film Beverly Hills Ninja. Robin Shou also directed a documentary called Red Trousers - The Life of the Hong Kong Stuntmen in 2003. He has also appeared in the Death Race film series.
Robin Shou became interested in martial arts while he was in college. He started learning Kenpō and later switched to Wushu. He won many martial arts championships in both China and the United States. Many people think Robin Shou is one of the best martial arts stars in movie history.

Robin Shou's Early Life and Martial Arts Journey
Robin Shou's love for martial arts began when he was a university student. He first studied Kenpo, a type of martial art. He then started practicing wushu after watching Jet Li's movie Shaolin Temple (1982). His skills quickly led him to become a stuntman in Hong Kong.
As a martial artist, Robin Shou achieved great success. He was an International Forms Champion in both 1982 and 1983. He also won many gold and silver medals in big competitions in China. In California, he was a Grand Champion in traditional forms.
Acting Career Highlights
Robin Shou's first acting role in America was in the TV film Forbidden Nights in 1990. After this, he went back to Hong Kong to make more movies. These included Tiger Cage 2 and Fatal Termination.
In 1994, Robin Shou returned to Los Angeles. He got his first main role in an American movie as Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat (1995). This movie was based on the well-known video game of the same name. He played Liu Kang again in the 1997 sequel, Mortal Kombat Annihilation. In the same year, he acted alongside Chris Farley in the action comedy Beverly Hills Ninja.
Robin Shou also had a small role in another video game movie, DOA: Dead or Alive. He played a character named 14K in the Death Race film series. In 2009, he appeared as Gen in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. Robin Shou also helped train actress Milla Jovovich for her role in the Resident Evil movies. He speaks both English and his native Chinese very well.
