Robin Tunney (born June 19, 1972) is an American actress. She first appeared in the movie Encino Man in 1992. She became well-known for her roles in the popular films Empire Records (1995) and The Craft (1996).
Robin Tunney won an award called the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her acting in Niagara, Niagara (1997). She also played important roles in movies like End of Days (1999) and Vertical Limit (2000). Many people know her from TV shows like Prison Break (2005–2006) where she played Veronica Donovan, and The Mentalist (2008–2015) where she played Teresa Lisbon.

Early Life and Education
Robin Tunney was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her father, Patrick, sold cars, and her mother, Cathy, was a bartender. Her father was from Ireland, and her mother's parents were also from Ireland. She is a cousin of Tom Tunney, who is a politician in Chicago.
Robin grew up in Orland Park, Illinois, which is a suburb near Chicago. She was raised in the Catholic faith. She went to Saint Ignatius College Prep and the Chicago Academy for the Arts in Chicago. She also lived in Palos Heights, Illinois.
Starting Her Acting Career
Robin Tunney moved to Los Angeles to start her acting career. She got parts in TV shows like Class of '96, Law & Order, and Life Goes On.
In 1995, she appeared in the movie Empire Records. Then, she became very successful in the horror-fantasy movie The Craft. In this movie, she played Sarah Bailey and starred with Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True. The Craft was a big hit, earning a lot of money.
Major Roles and Recognition
After The Craft, Robin Tunney starred in an independent movie called Niagara, Niagara in 1997. Her acting in this film was highly praised. She won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the Venice International Film Festival for this role.
In 1999, she acted alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action film End of Days. In 2004, she appeared in the first episode of the medical drama House.
From 2005 to 2006, Robin played Veronica Donovan in the first season of the TV show Prison Break. This show was very popular. In 2008, she started one of her longest roles as Teresa Lisbon in the TV series The Mentalist. This show ran for seven years.
In 2018, she starred with Nicolas Cage in the thriller movie Looking Glass. In 2019, she was in the TV show The Fix.
Beyond Acting: Poker Skills
On June 28, 2006, Robin Tunney won a poker game in a TV show called Celebrity Poker Showdown. She made it to the final round. In the finale, she finished second, winning $200,000 for her chosen charity, the Children's Health Fund. In August 2006, she even played in the World Series of Poker.
Personal Life
Robin Tunney married producer and director Bob Gosse in 1997. They divorced in 2006. She was engaged to writer and director Andrew Dominik from 2009 to 2010.
On December 25, 2012, Robin got engaged to Nicky Marmet while they were on vacation. They have two children together.
