Robson Ponte is a former Brazilian football player. He was born on November 6, 1976, in São Paulo, Brazil. Robson Ponte played as an attacking midfielder, a player who helps both defend and score goals. He spent most of his professional career playing for two big clubs: Bayer 04 Leverkusen in Germany and Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan.

Robson Ponte started his football career in Brazil. He played for a club called Guarani. He was a very good player there.
Playing in Germany
In 1999, something exciting happened. Robson Ponte played in a friendly match against a German club, Bayer 04 Leverkusen. He played so well that Leverkusen offered him a contract! He then moved to Germany to play in the Bundesliga, which is Germany's top football league. He played for Leverkusen for three seasons.
Later, in 2001, Robson Ponte went to another Bundesliga team, VfL Wolfsburg. He played there for two seasons on loan. During his time at Wolfsburg, he played in 61 matches and scored 13 goals.
Success in Japan
After his time in Germany, Robson Ponte moved to Japan in 2005. He joined one of Japan's biggest football clubs, Urawa Red Diamonds. He became a very important player for Urawa. He was an all-around midfielder, meaning he was good at many things on the field. He even took penalty kicks and corner kicks for his team.
In 2007, Robson Ponte had a fantastic year. He was given the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the season in Japan. This award shows he was considered the best player in the league that year!
Returning to Brazil
Robson Ponte finished his career playing in other countries in 2010. He then went back to his home country, Brazil. In 2011, he joined a Brazilian club called Grêmio Barueri. He played his final years of football there.
