Robyn Adele Anderson (born February 19, 1989) is an American singer and actress. She lives in New York City.

Robyn is well-known for being a singer with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox. This group takes modern pop songs and reworks them into older styles like jazz or swing. Her music videos with Postmodern Jukebox have been watched over 250 million times on YouTube.

She helped the group become famous in 2013 with their covers of "Thrift Shop" and "We Can't Stop". Robyn has also sung on TV shows like Good Morning America and at TEDx events.

Early Life and School

Robyn Adele Anderson was born in Albany, New York. She grew up in Glenmont, New York, with her family. Her background includes German, Dutch, English, Scottish, and Native American roots.

She went to Bethlehem Central High School. There, she played the clarinet in the school band. She also sang in different choirs.

In 2011, Robyn graduated from Binghamton University. She earned a degree in Political Science and Arabic. She also focused on Middle Eastern Studies and International Affairs. During her studies, she spent a semester in Spain at the University of Seville.

Robyn received several awards for her excellent school work. These included the Israel J. Rosefksy Language and Culture Scholarship. She also won the Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence in 2011.

Her Music Career

From 2012 to 2015, Robyn worked for a group called the ANSOB Center for Refugees. This group helps refugees get legal and social services.

In February 2013, Robyn started working with American pianist Scott Bradlee. She became one of the first members of his group, Postmodern Jukebox.

In 2013, Robyn sang on the Postmodern Jukebox cover of "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. This video became very popular. It got one million views on YouTube in its first week. It reached four million views in its first year.

After being a main singer for Postmodern Jukebox, Robyn started making her own music. She released her songs on YouTube and other places. By August 2021, her YouTube channel had over 653,000 followers. Her videos had been watched over 84 million times.

In January 2014, she also became a writer for KpopStarz, an online magazine about K-pop music.

Robyn has also acted on stage. In 2015, she played Lilyan Tashman in a show called Speakeasy Dollhouse: Ziegfeld's Midnight Frolic. In 2016, she played Lucile in The Flying Doctor. Sometimes, she sings as a guest with the musical group The Skivvies.

In 2017, Robyn started doing her own solo shows. She performed at places like Feinstein's/54 Below and Sleep No More's Manderley Bar. In 2018, she went on a two-week tour with singer Von Smith.

Robyn also lent her voice to the 2018 video game Red Dead Redemption 2. She played the character Robin Koninsky, a Polish singer. Other members of Postmodern Jukebox also appeared in the game. In the same year, her album Robyn Adele (Vol 1.) was released.
