Rocket Bar (born in 1951, died in 1970) was a famous Thoroughbred horse. He was known for his exciting races on the racetrack and for being a great father to many other fast horses. He was a stallion, which means a male horse used for breeding.

Rocket Bar's Early Life
Rocket Bar was born in Arizona in 1951. He was a son of another well-known horse named Three Bars. Rocket Bar started racing when he was young and continued until 1958. After his racing career, he became a breeding stallion, helping to create new generations of racehorses.
Racing Adventures
Rocket Bar was a very talented racehorse. He raced on both Quarter Horse tracks and Thoroughbred tracks.
Quarter Horse Races
He only raced once on a Quarter Horse track, but he did very well! He finished third and earned a special "AA" speed rating. This high rating helped him get a Race Register of Merit from the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA).
Thoroughbred Races
Rocket Bar had a longer career on Thoroughbred tracks. He raced 35 times over six years. Out of those races, he won 16 times, came in second 6 times, and finished third 4 times. He earned over $22,900 in prize money. He also won the important Phoenix Gold Cup Handicap race two years in a row, in 1956 and 1957.
A Great Father: Breeding Success
After his racing days, Rocket Bar became a very important breeding stallion. He had many famous children who also became great racehorses. Some of his most well-known sons and daughters include:

These horses, especially Fire Rocket, He Rocket, and Sugar Rocket, were so good that they were named "AQHA Supreme Champions." This is a very high honor for Quarter Horses!
Honors and Legacy
Rocket Bar passed away on October 23, 1970, after having surgery.
Even after his death, Rocket Bar's legacy lived on. In 1992, he was honored by being added to the AQHA Hall of Fame. This means he is remembered as one of the most important and influential horses in Quarter Horse history.
