Rockingham is a small community located in the state of Georgia, United States. It is also sometimes called Sallie. This area is known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's also a census-designated place (CDP), which is a special area defined by the U.S. Census Bureau for collecting population data.
Rockingham is found in the middle part of Bacon County. It sits along State Route 32, just east of Alma. Alma is the main city and the county seat for Bacon County. Rockingham is about 194 feet (59 meters) above sea level. In 2020, about 230 people lived there.

The community of Rockingham got its name from Rockingham, North Carolina. Many of the first people who settled here came from that North Carolina town. A post office was opened in Rockingham in 1902. It served the community for many years before closing in 1939.
