What the Show is About
The series follows a group of dodos who act like humans. They live on a hidden, rocky island far away from people. Most of the action happens right there on their island. Even though the show seems to be set in modern times, with things like airplanes and electricity, humans don't know about this special island.
Sometimes, human-made items like kitchen tools, food, or furniture wash up on the island's shores. These items often become important parts of the dodos' adventures in each episode. The dodos don't really know much about the world outside their island. They call everything beyond their home "the beyond" and think of the people who live there as "Fartians"—a kind of mythical being!
Meet the Main Characters
Let's get to know the interesting birds and creatures who live on the island!
Rocky
Rocky is a young male dodo who shares a cave with Elvis. He's a kind and easily impressed dodo who loves new adventures. However, Elvis's silly actions sometimes get Rocky into more trouble than he can handle!
Elvis
Elvis is a very unusual bird who lives with Rocky. It's not clear how they met or what kind of bird Elvis actually is. He looks a bit like a penguin mixed with a blue-footed booby, and he has a long, bendy tongue! Elvis is very energetic and loves to cause a bit of chaos and mischief. He's also smarter than most of the other dodos and enjoys playing tricks on them.
Bill
Bill is a dodo who is a bit fancy and proud. He owns and runs the "Loose Juice Bar" on the island. There, he makes popular, but sometimes strange, drinks for everyone. He has a big, noticeable quiff of feathers on his head that he's very proud of.
Wonda
Wonda is Bill's wife. She has orange, curly hair and wears a necklace made of seashells. Compared to the other dodos, she's probably the smartest. She often talks about the wisdom of the "ancient dodos" and sometimes takes charge when the group needs a leader.
Tantra
Tantra is a young female dodo who looks and acts like someone from the punk subculture. Her hair is dyed bright red, and her beak is painted in bright colors. She even wears a bath-chain with a plug on the end of her beak! She's friendly with Elvis and sometimes even stays in his cave instead of Rocky. She seems to enjoy spending time by herself.
Astra
Astra is a very unique and a bit strange female dodo who speaks with a fancy English accent. She lives in the highest cave on the island, which you can reach with a special lift. Astra is obsessed with studying the objects that wash up from "the beyond." She really wants to make contact with the "Fartians." Even though she acts very scholarly, she's not always the brightest. She often guesses wrong about what things are. For example, she might think a clothes horse is a skeleton or that a rubber duck is alive!
Dougan
Dougan is a lazy and not-so-smart walrus who lives at the island's rubbish dump.
Bjorn
Bjorn is a friendly puffin with a Swedish accent who often visits the island. Because he can fly, he understands much more about "the beyond" than the dodos do.
The Limpets
The Limpets are a large group of small sea creatures that live around and on the island. They move much faster than real limpets and have big eyes on top of their shells. Even though they don't talk, they are quite smart. They don't often play a main role in the stories, but they are super important for keeping the island running smoothly. They create power for the dodos' appliances by running inside devices that look like big hamster wheels!
Episodes of Rocky and the Dodos
The show had two seasons with a total of 26 episodes. Each episode was about 10 minutes long, filled with adventures and funny moments from the dodos' lives on their unique island.
