Rodd Christensen is an American actor. He is best known for playing Spencer the painter on the popular BBC children's TV show Balamory. He was the only main actor on the show who was not from Britain. Rodd also presented other educational shows for BBC Two.

Rodd Christensen's Life and Career
Early Life and Moving to Scotland
Rodd Christensen was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States. He trained to become an actor. In 1991, he moved to Scotland. For eleven years, he worked with young people for a charity called Scripture Union in Fife.
Starring in Balamory
From 2002 to 2005, Rodd Christensen appeared in the children's television show Balamory. He played the character of Spencer. Spencer was a friendly painter and musician. He was known for his colourful clothes and his love for art.
Other TV Shows
Rodd also presented other educational programmes for children. In 2010 and 2011, he hosted a show called 'Talkie Time' for BBC Two. This programme helped children learn new things.
In 2012, Rodd starred in another BBC Two show called 'Counting With Rodd'. This show was all about maths and numbers. It helped children learn how to count and understand different number ideas.
