The Rolling River First Nation is a community of First Nations people. They live in Manitoba, a province in Canada. Their lands are located south of a beautiful natural area called Riding Mountain National Park.

About half of the people who belong to the Rolling River First Nation live on their special lands, called reserves. These reserves are found south and east of a town called Erickson, Manitoba.

Understanding First Nation Reserves

First Nation reserves are special areas of land in Canada. These lands are set aside for the use and benefit of First Nations people. They are like a home base for the community.

The Rolling River First Nation has several of these reserves. These lands help the community keep its culture and traditions alive. They also provide a place for people to live and work together.

Main Reserve: Rolling River 67

The largest and most important reserve for the Rolling River First Nation is called Rolling River 67. This reserve is very big, covering about 6,776 hectares (which is about 16,744 acres).

It is located about 64 kilometers (40 miles) north of a city called Brandon. The land is mostly surrounded by rural areas, like the RM of Harrison.

Other Reserve Lands

Besides the main reserve, the Rolling River First Nation also has a few other smaller land areas:

  • Rolling River 67A is another reserve. It is about 1,017 hectares (2,512 acres) in size.
  • Rolling River 67B is a smaller reserve, about 297 hectares (734 acres).
  • Rolling River 67C is the smallest of their individual reserves, about 31 hectares (77 acres).
  • The Rolling River First Nation also shares a reserve called Treaty Four Reserve Grounds 77. This land is shared with several other First Nations communities. It is about 99 hectares (245 acres) in size.
