The Treaty Four Reserve Grounds 77 is a special piece of land in Saskatchewan, Canada. It's an Indian reserve, which means it's land set aside for First Nations people. This reserve is unique because it's shared by 33 different First Nations groups, called "bands." These bands come from both Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Reserve Grounds are located right next to the town of Fort Qu'Appelle. In 2016, a count showed that 15 people lived on the reserve. They lived in 6 of the 8 homes there.
What is Treaty 4?
All the First Nations bands who share this reserve are part of something very important called Treaty 4. A treaty is like a big agreement or contract between different groups of people. Treaty 4 was signed a long time ago, in 1874. It was an agreement between the Crown (representing the Canadian government) and several First Nations groups.
This particular piece of land, Treaty Four Reserve Grounds 77, was set aside for all Treaty 4 bands to share. It was given the number 77 after this. This happened in 1996 to remember the signing of the Treaty Land Entitlement agreements. These agreements were about making sure First Nations received the land they were promised in the original treaties.
Some people believe this land might have originally belonged to an Assiniboine Chief named Long Lodge #77. He was one of the chiefs who signed Treaty 4 in 1877 at Cypress Hills.
