Ron Rifkin (born Saul M. Rifkin; October 31, 1939) is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Arvin Sloane in the spy show Alias. He also played Saul Holden in the drama Brothers & Sisters. You might also know him as District Attorney Ellis Loew in the movie L.A. Confidential. Ron Rifkin won a special award, the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, for his role in the 1998 play Cabaret.

Ron Rifkin's Early Life and Family
Saul M. Rifkin was born in New York City. His parents were Miriam and Herman Rifkin. His father was born in Russia. Ron is the oldest of three children. He grew up following Orthodox Judaism, which is a type of the Jewish faith. He is still Jewish today, though he changed from Orthodox Judaism when he was 32 years old. His wife, Iva Rifkin, has her own business where she designs clothes.

Television Roles
In 2001, Ron Rifkin started working with Touchstone Television. He played a smart agent named Arvin Sloane in the TV show Alias. He acted alongside Jennifer Garner in this show. From 2006 to 2011, he played Saul Holden in Brothers & Sisters. In this show, he was a top businessman. He also appeared in One Day at a Time as Nick. He was a regular actor in the sixth season of that show.
Ron Rifkin has been in many TV movies and miniseries. He had regular roles in shows like The Rockford Files and The Trials of Rosie O'Neill. He also made guest appearances in popular series. These include The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, ER, and Law & Order. He even received an award nomination for his role in The Outer Limits.
