Rona Anderson (born August 3, 1926 – died July 23, 2013) was an actress from Scotland. She performed on stage, in movies, and on television. She was famous in the 1950s. Rona appeared in films like Scrooge and The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. On TV, she was in Dr Finlay's Casebook and Dixon of Dock Green.

Early Life and Training
Rona Anderson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Her parents were James and Evelyn Anderson. She went to school in Edinburgh. For a short time during World War II, she lived in Ottawa, Canada.
Rona studied acting at the Glover Turner-Robertson School in Edinburgh. This helped her prepare for a career on stage.
Marriage and Family Life
In 1951, Rona married another actor, Gordon Jackson. They had worked together in a film called Floodtide in 1949. They stayed married until Gordon passed away in 1990. They had two children together.
Rona's Stage Career
First Performances
Even though Rona grew up in Scotland, she spoke with an English accent. She first acted on stage in April 1945. This was at the Garrison Theatre in a play called Peg o' My Heart.
From 1945 to 1949, she performed many different roles. She worked with the Glasgow Citizens Theatre.
London Debut and Tours
In 1950, Rona acted in The Queen's Comedy. This was part of the Edinburgh International Festival. She made her first appearance in London in October 1951. This was at the Piccadilly Theatre in the play The White Sheep of the Family.
Rona went on two tours in 1955. In March, she toured as Sabrina in Sabrina Fair. Later, in September, she toured as Mary in All for Mary.
Later Stage Roles
In October 1958, Rona played Mary Tufnell. This was in Once a Rake at the Theatre Royal, Windsor. She also appeared in the first show of Savages in 1973.
In 1978, she performed at the Mermaid Theatre. The play was Whose Life Is It Anyway?. This show later moved to the Savoy Theatre. In 1981, she played Frances Shand Kydd in a comedy. It was called Her Royal Highness at the Palace Theatre, London.
Rona's Film and TV Work

Early Films
Rona Anderson's first big movie was Sleeping Car to Trieste in 1948. It was a drama directed by John Paddy Carstairs.
She played Alice in the 1951 film Scrooge. This movie was based on Charles Dickens' famous story A Christmas Carol.
Later Films and Television
In 1958, Rona appeared with Lee Patterson in Man with a Gun. Her last main film role was in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie in 1969. After this, she continued to work on stage and in TV shows.
From 1953 to 1983, Rona was in many British TV programs. She appeared in three episodes of The Human Jungle in 1964 and 1965. Rona played Mary in the British comedy show Bachelor Father from 1970 to 1971.
She also appeared in an episode of the crime series The Professionals. Her husband, Gordon Jackson, was a main actor in that show.
Rona Anderson's Legacy
Rona Anderson passed away on July 23, 2013. She died just two weeks before her 87th birthday. She left behind a long career in acting.
