Ronaldo's Club Journey
Starting in Youth Teams
Ronaldo joined the Santos youth academy in 2011. He moved up through different age groups, like the U-15, U-17, and U-20 teams. He was a great scorer for the U-17 and U-20 squads. His coach, Pedro Caixinha, then moved him up to the main team.
Playing for Santos Laguna
Ronaldo played his first professional game in the Liga MX on October 24, 2014. This game was a 1–1 draw against Pumas UNAM. On September 13, 2017, he scored three goals in one game (a hat trick!) against Juárez in the Copa MX. At first, his jersey number was 132, but it later changed to 97.
Moving to Guadalajara
On December 13, 2017, Ronaldo signed with Guadalajara. He scored his first goal for the club in the Liga MX on January 20, 2018. This goal was against Club Necaxa. Since then, he has also played for other teams on loan, like Zacatepec, Zacatecas, Tapatío, Atlanta United, and Querétaro.
Playing for Mexico
Youth National Teams
Ronaldo was chosen to play for the Mexico under-20 team in the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. He scored 6 goals in just 5 games, making him one of the top scorers in the tournament. He also played in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. There, he scored 2 goals in 5 games, scoring against Vanuatu and Senegal.
In May 2019, coach Jaime Lozano called Ronaldo up for the 2019 Toulon Tournament. Mexico finished third in this tournament.
