Ronin Warriors is a cool Japanese anime series. In Japan, it's called Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers. Hajime Yatate created this show, and Sunrise made the animation. The TV series first aired in Japan from April 30, 1988, to March 4, 1989. It had 39 episodes. There was also a manga (Japanese comic) version. It was published from November 1988 to April 1990.

The Story of Ronin Warriors

The story is about a bad guy named Talpa. He is a demon lord from the Netherworld. Talpa wants to take over the human world.

But five brave heroes stand in his way. They are called the Ronin Warriors. Each warrior has special armor and weapons. They get help from Mia Koji, a young student. A mysterious warrior-monk, known as The Ancient, also helps them.

A manga is a Japanese comic book. The Ronin Warriors manga was printed in a magazine called Monthly Shōnen Magazine. It was later collected into two books.

Anime Series

The Ronin Warriors anime first came to American TV in the summer of 1995. You could watch it on channels like the USA Network and Cartoon Network.

The series was released on DVD in 2002. These DVDs included the original Japanese version. Later, Discotek Media got the rights to the Japanese anime. They also released the special movies (OVAs) with both Japanese and English voices. You can also stream the English version of the show online.

When the show came to America, some things were changed. The opening and ending songs were different. The Japanese title cards were removed. But most of the original music stayed the same. The episodes themselves were not cut much.

Special Anime Movies (OVAs)

Besides the main TV show, three special anime movies were made. These are called OVAs. They are:

  • Gaiden (which means Side Story)
  • The Legend of the Inferno Armor
  • Message

These OVAs have been released on DVD.

The Ronin Warriors series also had popular music. Two albums were released in Japan:

  • Yoroiden Samurai Troopers Debut Album: Kimi o Nemurasenai (released in 1988)
  • Yoroiden Samurai Troopers: Best Friends (released in 1989)

Video Game Crossover

In July 2020, the Ronin Warriors characters appeared in a special event. This event was a crossover with the game Ragnarok Mobile.
