Rose Hill is a small village located in Jasper County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2020, about 89 people lived there.
A Look at Rose Hill's History
A post office was opened in Rose Hill in 1846. A post office is a place where you can send and receive mail. This one stayed open for a very long time, until 1967. The village got its name from an older name, "Roe's Hill."
Where is Rose Hill?
Rose Hill is in the northern part of Jasper County. A main road, Illinois Route 130, runs along the eastern side of the village.
If you travel north on Route 130, you will reach Greenup in about 11 miles. If you go south for about 9 miles, you will get to Newton. Newton is the main town, or county seat, of Jasper County.
The village of Rose Hill covers a total area of about 0.63 square miles (1.64 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
