Ross Wilburn was born in 1964 or 1965. He is an American politician and a social worker, which means he helps people and communities. He is currently a member of the Iowa House of Representatives. This is a group of people who make laws for the state of Iowa.

Early Life and Education
Ross Wilburn was born in Galesburg, Illinois. He grew up in Ames, Iowa. After finishing high school, he joined the Iowa Army National Guard. This is a part of the United States military that helps both the state and the country.
He went to the University of Iowa. There, he earned two college degrees in social work. These degrees helped him learn how to support people and solve problems in communities.
Ross Wilburn's Career
Mr. Wilburn has had many important jobs where he helped people. From 1997 to 2000, he worked at the University of Iowa. He was a director for a program that taught students how to become social workers.
Later, from 2000 to 2007, he was the leader of the Crisis Center of Johnson County. This center helps people who are going through difficult times. From 2008 to 2014, he worked for the Iowa City Community School District. His job was to make sure everyone was treated fairly and equally.
Public Service and Politics
Ross Wilburn was elected to the Iowa City Council in 2006. The City Council helps make decisions for the city. He served on the council for 12 years. During that time, he also served one term as the mayor of Iowa City. The mayor is the main leader of a city.
In 2018, he ran for governor of Iowa, but he did not win the election. However, in November 2018, he was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives. He started working there in 2019. In the House, he is a top member of the Veterans Affairs Committee. This committee works on issues important to people who have served in the military.
In January 2021, Ross Wilburn became the chair of the Iowa Democratic Party. This means he was the main leader of the Democratic Party in Iowa. He helped guide the party's activities and goals until 2023.
