Rowes Run is a small community in Pennsylvania, United States. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's also a "census-designated place" (CDP), which is an area the government defines for counting people.
Rowes Run is located in Redstone Township, within Fayette County. In 2020, about 517 people lived there. Before 2010, Rowes Run was part of a larger CDP called Grindstone-Rowes Run. For the 2010 census, it became its own separate CDP.

What Is the History of Rowes Run?
Rowes Run was started in 1907 by the Pittsburgh Coal Company. It was sometimes called "New Hill." The community got its name from a stream that flowed through land owned by James Rowe, who was an important person in the area.
A coal mine called Colonial #3 was located right in the town. In 1911, another company, the H. C. Frick Coke Company, took over the town.
Where Is Rowes Run Located?
Rowes Run is in the northwestern part of Fayette County. It's at the northern end of Redstone Township. To the north, across Grindstone Road, you'll find the community of Grindstone.
A stream called Redstone Creek forms the northern edge of Rowes Run, east of Grindstone Road. The town of Brownsville is about 5 miles (8 km) to the west. Uniontown, which is the main city of the county, is about 11 miles (18 km) to the southeast.
The U.S. Census Bureau says that Rowes Run covers an area of 1.2 square miles (3.2 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
