The Rubens River (also known as río Rubens in Spanish) is a river found in the southern part of Patagonia. This region is a large area at the bottom tip of South America. The river starts in the Cordillera Aníbal Pinto mountains in Chile, which are in the southwest. From there, it flows towards the northeast and crosses into Argentina.

Discovering the Rubens River's Journey

The Rubens River is an important waterway in southern Patagonia. It travels through two different countries, making it an international river.

Where Does the Rubens River Start?

The river begins its journey high up in the Cordillera Aníbal Pinto mountain range. These mountains are located in Chile, a country on the western side of South America. The starting point of a river is often called its source.

Where Does the Rubens River End?

After flowing from Chile, the Rubens River enters Argentina. It then joins another river called the Penitente River. When two rivers meet, it's called a confluence. There is some discussion among experts about whether the Rubens River is a smaller stream that flows into the Penitente River (making it a tributary), or if the Gallegos River actually starts where the Rubens and Penitente rivers meet.
