Rubicon had its own post office for a few years. It first opened in 1901 and stayed open until 1906. Then, it reopened in 1909 and closed again in 1913. The post office was located very close to Rubicon Creek. This area is known for getting a lot of snow. For example, in 2011, Rubicon received over 500 inches (about 12.7 meters) of snow!
