Rudno [ˈrudnɔ] is a small village located in southern Poland. It is part of the Gmina Krzeszowice area, which is in Kraków County. This county is found within the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. Rudno is about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) southwest of Krzeszowice. It is also about 26 kilometers (16 miles) west of Kraków, which is a major city and the capital of the region.
History of Rudno Village
Rudno village grew up around a very old castle. This castle, called Tenczyn Castle, was built in the 1300s. It was the home of the powerful Tęczyński family. Over time, the castle became more and more ruined, especially after a big fire in the mid-1700s.
