The Rugby Art Gallery and Museum is a cool place in central Rugby, Warwickshire, England. It's both an art gallery and a museum! The building was specially built for this purpose. It opened in the year 2000. It also shares its space with the Rugby library. This building was built where the old Rugby library used to be.

What You Can See
The Rugby Art Gallery and Museum has lots of interesting things to explore. It's a great spot to learn about art, history, and even rugby!
The Art Gallery
The art gallery is home to "The Rugby Collection." This collection has more than 170 pieces of art. These include prints, drawings, and paintings. You can see works by famous British artists. Some of these artists are L. S. Lowry, Stanley Spencer, Paula Rego, and Graham Sutherland.
The collection started way back in 1946. The Rugby Borough Council helped build it up. They still collect art from British artists. These are artists who are "promising and well-known." There is also a "Local Art Collection." This collection features art from artists in the Rugby area.
The Museum
The museum part of the building has many cool things. It shows off Roman objects. These objects were found when people dug up the nearby Roman town of Tripontium.
You can also learn about Rugby's past. The museum has displays on the town's social life. It also shows its industrial history. This means how people lived and worked in Rugby over time.
There's a special collection called the "Redding Collection." It has about 25,000 old photos. These photos are from the mid-1900s. They were taken by George Redding at his photo studio in Rugby. In December 2006, the famous Rugby World Cup trophy was even shown at the museum!
World Rugby Hall of Fame
For a while, the museum was the home of the World Rugby Hall of Fame. This opened in November 2016. It was a place to celebrate rugby legends. However, it closed in 2021. This was because of money problems for the local council. Also, not as many people visited as they had hoped.
Other Cool Features
The building also has the town's visitor centre. This is a helpful place for tourists. They can get information about Rugby here.
The museum has also hosted music concerts. This is part of a national project. It's called Get it Loud in Libraries. Different music artists have played gigs here. Some of them include Plan B and British Sea Power.
