Rule the School facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Rule the School was a super fun CBBC reality TV show where kids got to be the bosses! Imagine a world where students became teachers and teachers became students. That's exactly what happened! Five talented young people (the "teachers") took charge of ten adult teachers (the "pupils").

The show first started in 2002. Some of the cool lessons included learning how to text really fast, awesome break-dancing moves, playing computer games, making clothes look cool, and even how to be a pop star! The show was so popular that it was nominated for a BAFTA award in 2003. Later seasons featured lessons in dance, rap, DJing, and skateboarding. The show ran for four seasons and ended in 2005. It was presented by Jake Humphrey.

Young Teachers Take Charge

The five young "teachers" on Rule the School were picked from different schools across the UK. They were usually around 12 to 14 years old. Each young teacher was really good at something special. They were confident enough to teach adults about their skills!

These young teachers got to make all the rules. They decided on things like how to give out punishments, how to spend their budget, what lessons to teach, and even what everyone should wear. It was their school to run!

Teachers Become Students

The ten adult "pupils" were a mix of real teachers. They had different personalities and taught different subjects. But on Rule the School, they had to follow the rules set by their young teachers. If they didn't, they faced the consequences! It was a big change for them to be back in the classroom as students.

What Happened Next?

Some of the young people who were "teachers" on the show went on to do amazing things!

  • Adam, who taught dance in Season 3, later joined the CBBC STITCH UP team.
  • Jess Pearson, another dance teacher from Season 4, later starred in a TV show called Drop Dead Gorgeous on BBC Three.
  • Jordan McCuaig taught DJing in a later year. He became very successful, playing music at famous nightclubs and festivals. He even had live sets on Radio One and appeared in BBC Documentaries!
