Rupert Miles Sanders is an English film director. He is known for directing exciting movies. Some of his famous films include Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and Ghost in the Shell (2017). He also directed an episode of the TV series Foundation.

Early Life and Education
Rupert Sanders was born in London, England, on March 16, 1971. He is the oldest son of Thalia and Michael Sanders. His father was an eye doctor.
Rupert studied art and design. He first went to Kingston School of Art. After that, he earned a degree in graphic design from Central St Martins.
Directing Career
Rupert Sanders started his career making commercials. He worked with director Tony Kaye. Rupert used to focus on art design. But Tony Kaye suggested he try directing.
Award-Winning Commercials
Sanders has directed many television advertisements. One of his well-known commercials was "The Life" for the video game Halo 3: ODST. This commercial won him two Golden Lions awards. He received these awards at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. This festival is a big event for advertising.
First Feature Films
Sanders directed his first full-length movie, Snow White and the Huntsman. This film came out in June 2012. It cost about $170 million to make. The movie earned over $20 million on its first day in the US. Overall, it made nearly $400 million around the world.
He later directed Ghost in the Shell. This movie was based on a science fiction manga (Japanese comic book) series. It starred actress Scarlett Johansson. The film was released in March 2017.
Recent Projects
Rupert Sanders also directed the 2024 movie The Crow. This film stars Bill Skarsgård as the main character, Eric. In television, he directed "The Emperor's Peace." This was the first episode of the Apple TV+ science fiction series Foundation.
Personal Life
Rupert Sanders married model Liberty Ross in 2002. They moved to Los Angeles. They have two children, a daughter named Skyla and a son named Tennyson. Rupert and Liberty later divorced in 2014.
