Rushville is a city located in Schuyler County, Illinois, in the United States. It's a special place because it's the main town, or county seat, for Schuyler County. In 2020, about 3,005 people lived there. The first European-American settlers arrived in Rushville in 1823.

History of Rushville
In 1823, a man named Calvin Hobart and his family were the very first settlers in this area. Two years later, in 1825, Schuyler County was officially created. It included parts of other nearby counties at first.
The city of Rushville got its name in 1826. It was named after Rushton, the hometown of Benjamin Rush.
