Russell Hornsby (born on May 15, 1969) is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Edward "Eddie" Sutton in the TV show Lincoln Heights. He also played Detective Hank Griffin in the NBC series Grimm.
Hornsby also appeared as Lyons in the movie Fences. More recently, he played Charles Flenory in the TV series BMF.

Early Life and Education
Russell Hornsby was born in San Francisco, California. When he was in high school, he was a talented football player and track star. He attended Saint Mary's College High School in Berkeley, California.
One day, he tried out for a school musical called The Wiz. He got the part of the Scarecrow. This experience made him very interested in acting. After that, he took part in many other school plays.
After high school, Hornsby went to Boston University. He studied theater there and earned a degree in performance. He then continued his acting studies in England. He attended the British American Drama Academy in Oxford.
Acting Career Highlights
After studying in Oxford, Russell Hornsby moved to New York City. He quickly started getting main roles in plays that were not on Broadway. These plays included To Kill a Mockingbird and Six Degrees of Separation.
In the late 1990s, he moved to Los Angeles. He wanted to act in television shows and movies. He appeared in many TV productions. These included Haunted and Gideon's Crossing. He also had roles in popular shows like Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order.

Russell Hornsby has been in several movies. Some of his film roles include After the Sunset, Big Fat Liar, and Meet the Parents. In 2000, he won two awards for his acting in the play Jitney. These were the Drama Desk Award and an Obie Award.
From 2011 to 2017, he starred in the NBC fantasy drama Grimm. He played Detective Hank Griffin in this popular series. In 2018, he played Isaiah Butler in the Netflix crime drama Seven Seconds. That same year, Hornsby joined the cast of the movie Creed II.
In 2021, he began starring in the Starz crime drama TV series BMF. In this show, he acts alongside Eric Kofi-Abrefa and Da'Vinchi.
