Rutger Gunnarsson (born February 12, 1946 – died April 30, 2015) was a talented Swedish musician. He was a bass guitarist, guitarist, arranger, and producer. He is best known for his close work with the famous pop group ABBA.
Early Life and Music Career
Rutger Gunnarsson grew up in a place called Ledberg parish in Sweden. His music journey started when he worked with Björn Ulvaeus, who later became a member of ABBA. They were part of a group called the Hootenanny Singers.
Rutger was born in Linköping Municipality, which is in Östergötland County, Sweden.
Working with ABBA
Rutger Gunnarsson played a very important role with ABBA. He played bass on all of their albums. He also joined them on their big tours around the world. His bass lines helped create ABBA's unique and catchy sound.
