Ryo Kobayashi (小林 亮, Kobayashi Ryō, born September 12, 1982) is a former Japanese football player. He was a talented defender who played for several teams in Japan. After his playing career, he became a coach. His brother, Yoshiyuki Kobayashi, is also involved in football.

Ryo Kobayashi was born on September 12, 1982, in Chūō-ku, Saitama, Japan. He grew up loving football and decided to make it his career. He played as a defender, which means his job was to stop the other team from scoring goals.
Playing Career
Ryo Kobayashi started his football journey at Komazawa University. He played there from 2001 to 2004, developing his skills.
Professional Clubs
After university, Ryo joined his first professional club, Kashiwa Reysol, in 2005. He played there for three years until 2007. During his time at Kashiwa Reysol, he played in 74 games and scored 5 goals.
In 2008, he moved to Oita Trinita. He played 18 games for them and scored 1 goal. With Oita Trinita, he helped the team win the 2008 J.League Cup. This was a big achievement for him and the club.
From 2009 to 2014, Ryo played for Montedio Yamagata. This was his longest stay at one club, where he played 124 games and scored 1 goal. In 2014, his team was the runner-up in the Emperor's Cup, which is another important football competition in Japan.
