Ryuzo Shimizu (清水 隆三, Shimizu Ryūzō, September 30, 1902 – ?) was a Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a forward. Shimizu played for the Japan national team.

Early Life and Club Football
Ryuzo Shimizu was born on September 30, 1902. After he finished his studies at Tokyo Aoyama Normal School, he joined a football club. This club was called Tokyo Shukyu-Dan. It was started by other students who had also graduated from his school.
Playing for Japan
In May 1923, Ryuzo Shimizu was chosen to play for the Japan national football team. He joined them for a big sports event called the 1923 Far Eastern Championship Games. These games took place in Osaka, Japan.
First Match and Historic Goal
On May 23, 1923, Shimizu played his very first game for Japan. It was against the Philippines. In this match, he scored a goal just 5 minutes into the game! This goal was very special because it was the first goal ever scored by the Japan national team in an official international match. Even though Japan lost that game, Shimizu's goal made history.
