Sónia Araújo (born 24 November 1970) is a famous Portuguese TV hostess. She is well-known for hosting the popular Portuguese talk show Praça da Alegria. Sónia also showed off her dancing skills in the 2007 Eurovision Dance Contest, where she achieved an impressive fifth place.

Sónia's TV Journey
Sónia Araújo started her exciting career in television in 1993. Her very first appearance was in a magic show called Isto é Magia, which means This is Magic. She worked alongside the magician Luis de Matos.
After that, Sónia appeared in many other TV programs. Some of these shows included 1,2,3, Chuva de Estrelas, and Avós e Netos.
Becoming a Household Name
Sónia became very famous in Portugal in 1996. This was when she started co-hosting Praça da Alegria. She has continued to host this show for many years, making it a big part of her career. There was a short break when she took part in the Eurovision Dance Contest in 2007.
More Than Just TV
A year after she started hosting Praça da Alegria, Sónia also completed her studies. She earned a degree in law from the Lusíada University of Porto. Even though she is a successful TV host, she has said that her knowledge of law could still be useful to her in the future.
Sónia's Dance Adventure
In 2007, Sónia Araújo represented Portugal in the Eurovision Dance Contest. This was a big international competition where dancers from different countries showed their talents. Sónia performed wonderfully and managed to secure fifth place in the contest.
