Saúl Lisazo: Early Life and Football Career
Saúl Lisazo grew up with five brothers and sisters: Maria, Fernanda, Araceli, Alejandro, Mauricio, and Vanina. A sad event in his childhood was when his father passed away when Saúl was only 12 years old.
A Passion for Football
Football was always a big part of Saúl's life. He started playing with his father when he was very young. This sport became his favorite and allowed him to travel to many different countries around the world.
He played for several football teams, including Sarmiento and Atlanta in Argentina. He also played in Belgium for SK Beveren, where his team won the Belgian League in 1979, and for KV Mechelen. He even played for Juventus in Brazil.
Saúl hoped to play for Barcelona in Spain, but a knee injury forced him to stop playing football completely. After leaving football in 1983, he decided to try a new path and became a model.
Family Life
While playing football in Spain, Saúl met Mónica Viedma, who was a model. They fell in love and got married. Saúl and Mónica have two children: their daughter Paula, born on June 4, 1999, and their son Martin, born on November 11, 2003.
Saúl Lisazo: Acting Career
In 1988, Saúl began studying acting in Spain. He learned at the academy of the Argentine actress Cristina Rotta. After two and a half years of training, he got his first acting job in a movie called "El Regreso a la Isla del Tesoro" (which means "Return to Treasure Island").
Moving to Mexico and Theater Work
In the early 1990s, Saúl moved to Mexico City. There, he became the face of a big company, which helped him become known internationally. At the same time, he performed in several theater plays, such as "La Fierecilla Domada" and "Tartufo."
Becoming a Telenovela Star
Saúl's big break in telenovelas came in 1990. A famous Mexican actress named Lucía Méndez wanted him to be her co-star in her new show, "Amor de Nadie" (meaning "Nobody's Love"). This telenovela became very popular across Latin America.
After this success, Saúl starred in many other telenovelas. Some of these include "Acapulco, Cuerpo y Alma" (meaning "Acapulco, Body and Soul") and "La Jaula de Oro" (meaning "The Golden Cage"). He also appeared in shows like "Tenias que ser Tu" and "Prisionera de Amor."
