Sabula is a small place in Missouri, USA. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. You can find Sabula in the southwestern part of Iron County. It is located on the eastern side of the Big Creek floodplain, right along Missouri Route 49. It's about three miles north of Annapolis and 5.5 miles south of Glover.
What's the History of Sabula?
Sabula has an interesting past. It was first known by a different name: Reynolds. The area was officially mapped out, or platted, in 1873. This happened when the railroad lines were built and reached that spot. Later, in 1884, a post office was opened there and given the name Sabula. This post office served the community for many years, finally closing down in 1953.
