History of Sachin State
Sachin State was founded on June 6, 1791. Most people living there were Hindu. However, the state was ruled by Muslim leaders from the Siddi family.
The Siddi family came from a place called Abyssinia. This area is now known as Ethiopia in Africa.
British Rule and Independence
At first, Sachin State was protected by the Maratha Empire. Later, it came under the protection of the British. This meant the British helped protect the state.
In 1829, the state faced financial problems. From 1835 to 1864, the British government managed the state's affairs. Sachin State had its own army, money, and special paper for official documents. It even had a state band that included musicians from Africa.
Famous Film Stars
Fatima Begum (1892 - 1983) was a very famous person from India. She was one of the first big stars in Indian movies. She was also India's first female film director.
Some people say she was married to Nawab Sidi Ibrahim Muhammad Yakut Khan III of Sachin State. However, the royal family of Sachin says there is no official record of this marriage. They also say the Nawab did not officially recognize her children as his own.
Fatima Begum had three daughters: Sultana, Zubeida, and Shehzadi. Sultana became a leading actress in early Indian films. Her younger sister, Zubeida, was the main actress in Alam Ara (1931). This was India's very first movie with sound, known as a "talkie" film.
Joining India
Nawab Sidi Ibrahim Muhammad Yakut Khan III was the last ruler of Sachin State. On March 8, 1948, he signed an agreement to join the Indian Union. This meant Sachin State became part of India.
After India became independent and was divided into India and Pakistan, Zubeida stayed in India. Her sister Sultana moved to Pakistan. There, Sultana got married and had a daughter named Jamila Razzaq. Jamila also became a well-known actress in Pakistan during the 1950s and 1960s.

The rulers of Sachin State were called 'Nawab'. The British authorities gave them the right to a 9 gun salute. This was a special honor, like a royal greeting.
