Sachini Ayendra Stanley (Sinhala: සචිනි අයේන්ද්රා ස්ටැන්ලි) is a famous actress and a former beauty queen from Sri Lanka. She won the title of Miss World Sri Lanka in 2003. After winning, she represented her country at the big Miss World 2003 competition. Today, she works in the Sinhala film industry, which is where movies are made in the Sinhala language. Her very first movie was Aadaraneeya Wassaanaya, which came out in 2004. She even won an award for being the best supporting actress at the Signis Sri Lanka Film Awards for her role in that movie!

Sachini's Early Life and School Days
Sachini Ayendra was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka. She is the youngest child of David Stanley and Thamara Wadasinghe. She went to Hillwood College in Kandy for her studies. While at school, she was very active! She was part of many clubs like the young writers club, the school choir, and the drama club. She also enjoyed sports like swimming, tennis, and rugby. In 2002, Sachini won an award for being the best model in Kandy. The next year, in 2003, she became Miss Sri Lanka.
Her Journey in Acting and Modeling
Sachini started her modeling career when she was still in school. Her first big award was "Best Model Kandy" in 2002. After that, she appeared in many popular TV commercials. You might have seen her in ads for the soft drink Ride or for the National Savings Bank. Later, she moved to Colombo to focus more on acting and modeling.
Her most well-known role was in the movie Adaraneeya Wassanaya. But her acting really shined in the movie Sankara. In Sankara, she played a poor girl living in a small village, working in sugar cane fields. People also praised her performance in the 2007 movie Heart FM, where she played a girl with mental health challenges. She even received an award for this role at the Signis Sri Lanka Film festival in 2009.
After winning Miss Sri Lanka and the best supporting actress award for Adaraneeya Wassanaya, she was nominated for other big awards like the Sarasaviya Awards and Presidential Film Awards. Her second movie, Sankara, is considered one of her best performances.
Sachini also started acting on TV in 2005. Her first TV show was called Hiruni, which aired on Sirasa TV. She also performed on stage in a play called For Better or For Worse in 2009.
In 2016, Sachini became the first Sri Lankan to compete in the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, USA. She won two silver medals and one bronze medal for her acting! She went back to the competition in 2017 and won four more bronze medals for acting. She also received a special mention for her amazing national costume. In 2021, she was featured in the Raffealla Fernando Celebrity Calendar alongside many other famous Sri Lankan people.
