Saco is found in the state of Montana. The United States Census Bureau says the town covers about 0.33 square miles (0.79 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the town limits.

Saco has a semi-arid climate. This means it gets very little rain or snow. The weather can be quite dry. It often has hot summers and cold winters.
A Look at Saco's Past
The town of Saco got its name in an interesting way. When the Great Northern Railway was building its lines, officials needed to name many train stops. One story says an official spun a globe and pointed to Saco, Maine, giving the Montana town its name. Another idea is that the name comes from "Sacajawea," a famous Native American guide.
Saco once held a world record! In 1999, the town made the world's largest hamburger. It weighed 6,040 pounds and used meat from 17 cattle. This was a huge event for the town.
