About Sada Vidoo
Early Life and Music Start
Sada Vidoo was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on June 30, 1977. Her mother was Danish, and her father was Palestinian. When she was young, she faced bullying at school. To cope, she began writing and recording songs. This led her to start a music career.
As 'Nicole,' she signed with Virgin Records Denmark in the late 1990s. She became well-known for singing on DJ Aligator's song "Lollipop" in 2000. This song was very popular. It reached the top 10 in Norway and Sweden. It was also one of the best-selling songs in Denmark that year.
Her first song as a lead artist, "Hide Away," came out in 2001. She released more songs with Virgin Records. However, the record label later ended her contract. After this, Vidoo focused on writing songs for other artists. Her first big hit as a songwriter was "Ten Miles." Infernal released this song in 2006. It reached number two on the Polish music charts. It also earned a Platinum award in Denmark.
From 2002 to 2007, Sada Vidoo toured Europe. She was the lead singer for the group Snap!. In 2008, she was a finalist on a Danish TV talent show called Elsk mig i nat. As Nicole Stokholm, she was part of a group called The Stokholm Promise. They released a song called "United" in 2010. This song helped raise money for Danish soldiers. Also in 2010, she started using the stage name Miss Nicole. She was featured on Sami Krid's song "Kostbar."
Music Career Highlights
In 2012, Vidoo moved to London. There, she started working with British musicians Russ and Chris Ballard. She then created her "living doll" stage character, Sada Vidoo. Her first album, A Story with No End, was released on August 11, 2014. It included songs like "The Actress" and "China Doll." It also featured a cover of Pat Benatar's "Love Is a Battlefield." The album received good reviews.
Sada Vidoo performed at Copenhagen Pride in August 2014. In 2016, she auditioned for the 13th season of The X Factor UK. She sang "Love Is a Battlefield" for her audition. She later sang "Hold On" and "Numb" during the show's challenges. She was eliminated before the "Judge's House" stage. However, she returned for the final. There, she performed "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now."
In 2017, Vidoo competed to represent Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. She entered the national final, Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, with her song "Northern Lights." The song did not make it to the super final. "Northern Lights" was released internationally on February 28, 2017.
