Sahibzada Farooq Ali (born 5 September 1931 – died 29 November 2020) was an important Pakistani politician. He served as the ninth Speaker of the National Assembly, which is like the leader of the main law-making body in Pakistan. He was chosen by the people from the city of Multan.
Early Life and Background
Sahibzada Farooq Ali was born on 5 September 1931. His family belonged to the Toor tribe. He grew up in Wayanwali village, which is close to Ghakhar Mandi in the Wazirabad area of Pakistan.
His Political Journey
Before becoming a Speaker, Sahibzada Farooq Ali worked in important roles for the cities of Multan and Bahawalpur. He was in charge of departments that handled information, public relations, and arts and culture.
Later, he became a member of the parliament. As Speaker, he led the National Assembly and helped make sure that important discussions and decisions happened smoothly. He served as Speaker from 9 August 1973 to 27 March 1977.
Later Years
Sahibzada Farooq Ali passed away on 29 November 2020 in Multan, Pakistan. Many people attended his funeral prayers, which were held at the Shahi Eidgah.
